I'm starting the new year continuing to sort through the endless heaps of things in my house. I continue to marvel at the pace of the passage of time. I can remember as a kid boasting, I'll be 43 years old when the ball in Times Square rings in the year 2000, and it seemed centuries away. Today, the turn of the century has come and gone. I'm missing my parents and biggest sister terribly. Every so often, there is a moment where I find a sign that they are not so far away in spirit, and today is one of those moments. The gem on the left is an old picture I found of my mother that was taken in 1925. Certainly not a clone, but definitely a chip off the old Great Grandma, is the gem on the right, my granddaughter, Jenna.
Look at 'er, Ma! She kinda looks like you...and she's beautiful; she's spunky; she wants hugs and kisses; she keeps us steppin'; and she loves us and we love her! Ya done good, Ma!
